Day 69 - September 11, 2007

Today was another good day for the boys overall. They are still struggling with going to the bathroom but the docs and nurses are taking measures to try and help. They will be slightly reducing their food intake and the amount of fortifiers they are getting. We'll see if it helps.

The most important bit of news today is that the boys did really well with their breastfeeding. They are still only getting tiny amounts and they are still learning all about how to suck, breath and swallow at the same time. Today was the first time that Liza weighed them before and after they tried to breastfeed. Shay, who is definitely eager, got a total of 4mls. Not a lot but still good. Ciaran, who is a lounger that likes to take his time to latch on, got a total of 10mls! They are both doing great and that was validated by the lactation consultant Dorothy. She came by and watch Liza with Ciaran and she said he was acting like a baby would at 38 weeks but the boys are only 36 weeks. Truly wonderful!

That is it for today, tomorrow is ultrasound and eye test day. A big day for them.

Have a great day!
Cris, Liza, Ciaran and Shay

Hi Liza,

So glad to hear that the boys are doing well.

I was talking to Tina Luna today and she tells me that you are not even missing GA.

How could that be????

It's all I am thinking about these days. (And nights.)

Take care; talk to you soon,

Bev

So glad to hear you are all doing well. Don't forget to take care of yourselves (and have a beer a day... it works, trust me!!)

I agree...a beer a day does work. Even for me. School is a challenge this year and we are missing you at GA. Enjoy these precious moments...the go to soon.
